A piano recital by Barry Douglas, winner of the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition, has taken place at the Royal Castle. The pianist has sustained an international career as both a soloist and chamber musician for more than four decades.
The programme featured Impromptus by Franz Schubert, selections from Romeo and Juliet by Sergei Prokofiev, selected Fantasies by Johannes Brahms, and the Piano Sonata in F minor, Op. 57 ‘Appassionata’ by Ludwig van Beethoven.
The concert was held under the patronage of the Ambassador of Ireland, Mr Patrick Haughey.
