Tomasz Kumięga studied at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Opera Academy of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera before joining the Atelier Lyrique of the Opéra national de Paris. He has been awarded multiple scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Following his début at the Polish National Opera in 2013 as Marullo (Rigoletto), he quickly appeared on international stages, performing at the Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville, the Istanbul Opera, the National Opera of Miskolc, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, and the Warsaw Philharmonic.
Beginning with the 2014/15 season, Kumięga has been a frequent guest at the Opéra national de Paris, where his appearances have included Orphée et Eurydice, Così fan tutte, Iphigénie en Tauride, Don Carlos, Rusalka, Gianni Schicchi, Khovanshchina, Madama Butterfly, Carmen, and Tristan und Isolde. A regular at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, he was a laureate of the festival in 2012. He has also performed with Opernhaus Zürich, Teatro Real Madrid, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier, Opéra de Saint-Étienne, Opéra national de Lorraine, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Bozar Music, and La Monnaie in Brussels.
