A graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków, where he studied choral conducting. From 2009 to 2012, he sang with the Polish Radio Choir in Kraków. Since 2010, he has been the conductor of the Camerata Jagellonica Jagiellonian University Academic Choir, and since 2017 – of the Kraków Academic Choir of the Jagiellonian University.

Janusz Wierzgacz served as conductor of the Kraków Male Choir of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków (2013–17) and as Kraków Opera’s choirmaster (2020–24). He was also among music arrangers and conductors at the central events of World Youth Day in Kraków in 2016.
