A graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, where he studied voice with Professor Włodzimierz Zalewski, Dariusz Machej has appeared as a guest artist at leading opera houses including the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, the Polish Royal Opera, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Baltic Opera, Kraków Opera, the Teatr Wielki in Łódź, Silesian Opera, the Teatr Wielki in Poznań, Szczecin Opera, Oper Frankfurt, Wuppertaler Bühnen, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Theater der Stadt Koblenz, Wiener Kammeroper, Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, and the Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
He has taken part in numerous music festivals, including the Rossini Opera Festival, Festival de Musique de Strasbourg, Belcanto Opera Festival Rossini in Wildbad, EBU Summer Festival, the Anima Mundi Festival of Sacred Music, Internationale Maifestspiele, the Moniuszko International Festival, the Warsaw Autumn, and Wratislavia Cantans.
He participated in the world premiere of Zygmunt Krauze’s opera Iwona, księżniczka Burgunda (Iwona, Princess of Burgundy), and recorded on numerous labels, including Naxos, ROF, Bongiovanni, DUX, the Polish Radio Recording Agency, and the Polish Radio archives. Recordings featuring the artist have won the Fryderyk Awards (Szymanowski’s Hagith in 2020) and (Noskowski’s Zemsta za mur graniczny in 2024).
